Moises’ journey: a Brazilian coach on a quest for real Muay Thai

15171240_1166072860095040_617144133625235601_nCoach Moises Da Silva Ferreira, 31 years old, from Natal, Brasil, has just finished his one month stay at 7 Muay Thai Gym in Rayong, with the goal to improve his technique. Talking with him, you can really sense his positive feelings. Maybe due to his Brazilian soul, we can imagine, but Moises is really satisfied by this experience. In Natal, Moises, owns his own gym, TNT Kombat Muay Thai, as well as one of the two Muay Thai stadiums in Brazil, Litoraneos Stadium Muaythai, (<<An idea that became true thanks also to trainers João Fernandes, Reni Fraga, Sandro de Castro, my student Gabriel Fernandes and World champion Cosmo Alexandre>> he says). But what’s the reason of this “sportive adventure”? Moises, had never been in Thailand before, and he felt the need to expand his knowledge, in order to transmit something special to his students, and there is not better place than homeland of Muay Thai. So, after several years he took a vacation, destination Rayong, to train alongside professional fighters and trainers and learn the secrets of Muay Thai from who this art runs in their veins. <<One of the best things here, is that each trainer has his own pecuilarity, offering something different to learn. Ajarn Fit, “El Diablo”, is focused on balance and clean strikes, and always demands perfection. He is always shouting “No Good!”. Kru Tid asks for several techniques and combinations, letting you work with spinning and jumping attacks. Kru Jay focuses on resistance and output volume…“One more! One more!”>>. 15109416_1155886401113686_1683556975870180036_nTalking about the difference in practising Muay Thai between Brazil and Thailand, Moises has no doubts: <<In Brazil, we train 3 hour a day…which seems enough! But here…we can train even 6 or 7 hours per day! I can say it’s normal, because in Thailand practising Muay Thai is like going to work, it’s a way to earn money. In Brazil, before coming to the gym, people have to spend their day at the office or factory…>>. Moises’ vacation is now over, and he didn’t have much opportunities to visit diffrent places in Thailand, because he spent his time in the little and peaceful Chak Pong district, but will he be back or this experience was enough?

<<Absolutely not! I want to go back there. Next time I’ll even take my girlfriend!>> he answer, smiling. His next goal, will be to become an “Intern trainer” at 7 Muay Thai Gym. He will go there for a 3 months internship to learn to be on other side of pads, alongside his beloved thai trainers.
