The Kunlun fight 70kg kickboxing tournament of 2016 has come to its final stage, even though it will go down on the first day of 2017. In fact, the last 4 contestant will fight in a 4-men marathon in a staked, year-end finale card of Kunlun fight 56. The event will take place at the brand new Mangrove Tree Luxury Resort in the city of Sanya (China).
This year’s final features 2 top Thai fighters: Superbon Banchamek, who in the quarter final defeated no other that Sittichai Sitsongpeenong in heated rematch at Kunlun 53 and Khayal Dzhaniev in the previous bout. Superbon will fight Cedric Manhoef from Holland. In the other semi-final Jomthong Chuwattana, who has defeated four Chinese fighters to get to semi-finals, will fight strong Georgian Davit Kiria who deafeated former KF champion Dzianis Zuev and than passed the quarter finals via forfeit, after Mohamed Mezouari pulled out for health reasons. In fact, the two will fight each other in the tournament’s reserve fight.
Buakaw Banchamek and Andrei Kulebin, fresh from their fight (video) are both on this card against Chinese opponents. Buakaw will fight Tian Xin as the main attraction of the night and Kulebin will fight Wu Xuesong. Kunlun fight 65kg tournament Champion and one the top Chinese fighters Wei Ninghui was supposed to fight Kim Min-Soo, but due to visa issues the South Korean fighter will not be able to compete. The other reserve fight for the tournament will be the one between Artem Pashporin, who in the past has fought names like Buakaw, Petchmokon and to who awaits a big challenge in 2017 (news to come), will fight Thai fighter based in China Arthit Hanchana.
