Results/Video: Petpanomrung Kiatmoo9 wins the Toyota Marathon -64 Kg

Fighting for Muay Farang, as known, Mathias Gallo Cassarino from 7 Muay Thai Gym was defending Italy’s colours. Mathias was counting alot on this opportunity, but after 6 months of success, a setback came up just a week from the fight. Mathias gets an infection on his arm and leg and 5 days prior to the fight he ends up at the hospital for a very very small operation. Unfortunately, the promoter Petchyindee, wants Mathias to fight at all costs and we can’t blame him, seen the advertising that has been made (see promo -Link) (see article – Link).

Mathias is now a “name” in Thailand so he he had to be there, even in poor conditions. Mathias steps on the ring with 2 big patches on his body which are obvious for the audience (doctor and ref had to “close an eye”) because he starts bleeding since the start. “Real” Muay Thai in Thailand is also this, and the audience of expert appreciated that Mathias respected his word that he was gona fight in any case, and he was present at Toyota marathon and did his part as well.

In the first fight he had to face the strong Thai Aranchai Kiatpatarapan (WBC MT world champion), experts will remeber him for the great fight against the French Damien Alamos for the Lumpinee title (video).

The fight weight set at 64 kg and with Top thais from the division was already know to be a hard task.

Of course, with Mathias at 100% we would have seen another fight, anyway, Mathias fought the 3 rounds and gave a decent show for the crowd even if this is 50% of the Mathias we know. Surely, Aranchai’s kicks that move Mathias show the power and weight of the fighter, this shows that it would have been a close fight anyways. In the video we can see that in the 3rd round one of the medications falls off; and leaving the ring the crowd claps hands for Mathias but today they appreciate the man and not the champion.
