Card: Glory 38 – Thongchai vs Murthel Groenhart – 24/02/17

Glory Kickboxing 38 will take place Friday the 24th of February, once again in North America. Precisely at the Sears Centre Arena in Hoffman Estates (Illionis-USA).

The main event carries much hype as Russian Glory light-heavyweight world champion Artem Vakhitov defend his title against former champion Saulo Cavalari from Brazil. The pair has already fought twice in the past, winning once each. The last time, during 2016, saw Vakhitov take the belt away from Cavalari and become the champion.

Hype is also built around the superfight between Thai beats Thongchai Sitsongpeenong, who will step on the Glory ring for the second time. He will face a veteran of the organization, Murthel Groenhart, who is very well know in the sport as he was a former K1-Max champion and has won two Glory contender tournaments and fought for the title twice against former champion Nieky Holzken, but was never able to grab the belt. In the past, Groenhart also fought Thongchai‘s training partner, thai phenom Sittichai Sitsongpeenong.

On the card also a light-heavyweight contender tournament, to find out who will be the next title challenger. The fighters confirmed to be on the 4-men tournament are: Zack Mwekassa, Danyo Illunga, Ariel Machado.
