Yesterday, during the Muay Thai Day (6th February 2015) was held in Bangkok a Muay Thai event organized by the WMC.

In the WMC 4 Man Tournamen -57kg there was the Sicilian fighter of Muay Farang Team Gery Bavetta who represented Italy.

In the first match, Gery fought against the strong Chainoi Worawut, who usually fights at Rajadamnern & Lumpinee Stadium, a great fighter with a good boxing experience who had at his corner the young prodigy Sangmanee Sor Tienpo. We want to remmeber that in 2013 Chainoi was awarded with one of the 10 best fights at Channel 7 Stadium.

Unfortunately the organization of the event wasn’t that good and Gery had to jump into the ring without a proper warm up and this penalized him; but even though Gery conducted a great fight, from the first round, striking powerful kicks but accusing his opponent boxing skills. On the 3rd Round, Gery was in advantage but unfortunately he got hit with a hook and got counted by the referee.

Even though Gery got up immediately and with great heart attacked until the end, the judges gave victory to his opponent; probably if it was a 5 rounds match, the end could have been different.

Chainoi Worawut arrived in the final, with evident bruises on his armes, left by Gery’s powerful kicks. In the final the Thai faced the South African Ncedo Gomba (Video vs Leo Pinto), who in the semifinal defeated by KO and without any trouble a good young Chinese fighter (C Class); Ncedo kept the final attacking and convinced the judges who gave him the victory of the fight and the WMC -57kg Tournament.

We would have loved to see Gery against Ncedo, a fight that for us could have been very interesting, in fact MF Manager Roberto Gallo Cassarino already gave availability for the fight, maybe at Lumpinee St (5 rounds).
