Video: Liam Harrison vs Tetsuya Yamato – Yokkao 17 – 19 March 2016
In the last few days, vidoes of Yokkao 17 were finally published. The event took place at Macron Stadium Bolton in Greater Manchester (UK) last March 19th.
The main event of the evening was for the Yokkao World Title 65kg; between the well-known English fighter Liam Harrison, who has fought top fighters like Singdam Kitmoo9, Saenchai, Malaipet Sasiprapa, Pakorn PkSaenchai etc and won titles like WBC Muay Thai (World Champion 147lbs – 2011/2014), WMC Muay Thai (World Champion -61.5kg – 2007-2009) WPMF (World Champion -63.5kg – 2006-2007), and the Japanese Kickboxer Tetsuya Yamato, who also fought great fighters like Pakorn PkSaenchai, Aranchai, Kongsak, Sagetdao Petpayathai etc and won big titles too such as WBC Muay Thai (World Champion -63.5kg – 2014 / International champion – 2012 / Japanese champion – 2009), WMC (Lightweight – 2009), K-1 World Max (-63.5kg – 2010).
A Muay Thai full rules fight (5×3), which saw Tetsuya almost always attaching and throwing in good combos.
Liam Harrison won by points, an outcome that was very criticized on Internet; we can only say that if the fight would have been in Thailand with real Muay Thai rules the Japanese fighter would have been more rewarded as he never took a step back.
