Video & Results: Glory 37 – Van Roosmalen wins by KO but loses Glory belt – 20/01/17

Glory Kickboxing‘s latest event went down last night (20th January 2017) in Los Angeles. The main attraction of Glory 37 were the Middleweight title fight, with Dutch champion Jason Wilnis defending against Israel Adesanya from New Zealand; and the Featherweight title fight, with Dutch champion Robin van Roosmalen defending against Canadian Matt Embree.

Unfortunately, RVR was stripped of his title even before stepping in the ring, after he missed weight. The champion stepped on the scale at 143.8 pounds with the weight limit being 143.3 (65kg), and refused to cut any more weight. Robin’s trainer stated that, according to the scale where Robin checked his weight before the official weigh-in, he was already on weight. Finally, the belt was set as vacant and only the Embree was able to grab it, if he would have won the fight.
